Point Lobos State Park is located just a a few miles south of Monterrey and Peeble Beach. It has been called the "greatest meeting of land and water in the world" by landscape artist Francis McComas. Once you've been there I think you might agree with that assessment, I know I do. We were really fascinated by the rock formations and wildlife you can see there.
17 mile ride may be the most scenic drive in America. 17-Mile Drive runs through Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach on the Monterey Peninsula, much of which hugs the Pacific coastline and passes famous golf courses and mansions. For non residents of the Peeble Beach community this is a toll road and you pay $10 to travel it, except by bike, then its free. We road it all the way to the Peeble Beach Golf Course where we purchased lunch at the resort's market and ate it overlooking the golf course's 18th hole.
