In Gold Beach we took Jerry's Jet boats 32 miles up the Rogue river. What a beautiful trip. It was cold and foggy on the coast but after just a couple of miles inland the sky turned blue and warmed up. We keep taking layers of clothes off all the way up the river and then putting them back coming back down!

As we passed through the city of Bandon we decided to stop for lunch.

As we passed through the city of Bandon we decided to stop for lunch. We ate  at a great Mexican place and although the day was brisk we sat outside on the patio in the bright sunshine sheltered by glass see thru walls. We then took a little time to shop some of the cute little shops by the seaside. We found some very good shoes for Dagmar at one of the local boutiques. They've really been amazing and have helped her feet out quite a bit. More about them in a later post. After that we just wandered around the harbor taking pictures until it was time to go.

Spent a couple of days in Florence.

Spent a couple of days in Florence. Did a little dry camping at the local casino while visiting the sites. We drove out to the wildly wind blown Pacific to check out the dunes. They were really awesome, but the wind was so strong it was like trying to visit a sandstorm!!

We left Bill & Shirley in Portland and headed down the coast to the Harbor town of Newport, a 3 hour drive. We stayed in the Pacific Motorcoach RV Park on a cliff overlooking the ocean. It was one those real ritzy resorts, but the developer went bankrupt and ownership had just passed to all the lot owners. They were in midst of turning it around and we stayed there at the bargain rate price of $33/day. It was such a beautiful location that we sent and email with pictures to Bill & Shirley, telling them how much they'd like it here. A little later they called and the next day they drove down and joined us for three great days exploring Newport and hanging out together.
