Competed in the Tucson Senior Olympics Pickleball Tournament held at the Voyager RV Park last week. My partner and I competed in both the 'age' and 'skill level' categories. We are both skill level 3.5 and competed against like skill levels in that event. We were knocked out having lost 2 out of 5 matches. Didn't fare as well in the 'age' catergory where we played higher skill levels. All in all a lot of fun, and a chance to see the best players around Tucson.

Mixed a couple of days of Dagmar's biking together here.
Mixed a couple of days of Dagmar's biking together here. She did 42 miles on Wednesday and 35 on Thursday. One of the men in this photo had an accident later in the ride. He ran into a closing gate guard that knocked him from his bike. He ended up with in an ambulance for a trip to the hospital where he found out he had a punctured lung. Also included a couple of photos of our hiking schedule. Several look pretty difficult...8 miles and 1600' elevation gain, that's going to be a tough one!!

New Year's Eve in Mesa, AZ brought us together with friends we madelast year in the park.
New Year's Eve in Mesa, AZ brought us together with friends we made last year in the park. Some of the friends were people who were actually born in the same town Dagmar was born in Germany. They had extra tickets and invited us to sit at their table. The decorations for the festivities were superb. They served excellent appetizers made by a new Chef of the Val Vista Voyager by the name of Klaus. I had to investigate and talked to Klaus and voila...found out he was of German descend. The name gave him away. We danced the night away to the music of the 50's and 60's and of course a kiss at midnight. Happy New Year 2012!!!

Dagmar did this hike last year in Phoenix while I was playing golf that day. Ever since she really wanted me to see this beautiful hike's phenomenal views. Saturday we decided to take the dogs for a long walk and the Peralta Trail looked like a good challenge them and wonderful views for me. Off we went for this 4 1/2 mile round trip hike with some good elevations changes.
