We spent the day touring the delightful shops in the town of 'Carmel bythe Sea' the home of Clint Eastwood.

Let's see, we spent most of the day exploring the Monterey Aquarium, really a first class place, even if it was a bit pricey, $35 apiece. After that we took the dogs  for a walk on the beach where the Links at Spanish Bay enter the sea.

Leaving San Francisco we headed for Monterey, alias 'one of the most beautiful places I have every visited', by Shirley Boyce. Since Bill and Shirley have been more places than anybody else we know we took her recommendation very seriously! We stayed in the Monterey Elks Club that has a beautiful view of Monterey Bay from the pool area. Unfortunately you can see it from the RV parking area. Our first afternoon we took a stroll along the shore near the aquarium. It was gorgeous!

San Francisco is a beautiful city, reminding us a lot of Vancouver, BC, both extremely beautiful cities with a lot to offer!! We spent 3 day exploring SF which doesn't really get you very far. Hopefully the pictures will tell the story!!

We used the Brookings Elks Lodge RV Park as a base to visit theJedidiah Smith Redwood State Park.

We used the Brookings Elks Lodge RV Park as a base to visit the Jedidiah Smith Redwood State Park. The redwoods in this part of the country are Coastal redwoods, not the giant Sequoia redwoods. The Coastal redwoods grow taller but are not as wide as the Sequoia. We spent time visiting Brookings harbor, where we saw an otter. We also took long off leash walks with the dogs which they really love! On the way back from the touring the redwoods we stopped in Crescent City and caught a car show in their park. Driving down the coast we stopped at a the California visitor center a took a few pictures near the Redding Rock Light.
