We stopped in to visit with Kathi after her knee operation thisafternoon.

We stopped in to visit with Kathi after her knee operation this afternoon. She is steadily improving and should be released tomorrow to a rehabilitation center. At first the knee that wasn't operating on swelled up and she couldn't use either one. After draining off the excess fluid it is getting better. The doctors do not know what actually caused the swelling. But anyway she seems to be on the mend.

Played in the mens doubles Pickleball event in Columbia, Missouri onFriday.

Played in the mens doubles Pickleball event in Columbia, Missouri on Friday. My partner, Andy Gensch, and I took the gold medal in our age bracket, 50 to 55. Had to play down to his age level since Andy is just a youngster. So unbelievably muggy, thankfully it was at least cloudy for our matches. Still everybody was drenched in sweat even before we got started. Great group of people and a well run tournament. I'll be back next year! !

Had a great weekend! On Saturday we attended a shower for Benjamin Allen Liem, Isaac and  Amanda's son who is expected on Sept 11. Yesterday morning we rode in the annual Kansas City Fountains bike ride with Isaac. That evening we all got together for dinner at Cheddars to celebrate Dagmar's birthday and Father's day which  both fell on the same day this year. So much fun!!
