Our last day at Jojoba Hills we took a hike through the Slot Canyon in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. What a huge, almost 1,000 square miles, piece of tranquility and beauty. There are many, many hikes to do here and I hope we get the chance to do them. The Butterfield Stage originated in St. Louis, Mo. and ended in San Francisco using the Great Southern Overland Route between 1857 and 1861 which runs right through Anza-Borrego. We followed a portion of that same route through the park when we left Jojoba Hills for Yuma.
