My father, Robert Charles Liem, 89 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family April 20, 2013, at St. Lukes South Hospital. He was a wonderful father and a born teacher, even though by profession, he was an engineer and manager. He loved to be around people, especially if he could 'teach' them something. Dad was a kind and generous man. After his retirement from General Motors in the early 1980's he donated much of his time to the Cosmopolitan Club. Dad's wife, Violet, was devoted to him, never leaving his side through their 29 year marriage. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 24th, 2013 at 1 pm the funeral service at 2 pm a family-only private burial service will immediately follow. The services will take place at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, Ks. 66210.

Your Dad must have been someone to look to for guidance in life skills as well as being a good guy. You kids should be honored to have had him as a father. What better honor than to be loved by his wife and children. Wish we could have met him. Hugs, Bill & Shirley
