Today was the first day back on the road == what a crazy of a day!

Today was the first day back on the road == what a crazy of a day!!  Just yesterday the motorhome's in dash air condition was repaired after waiting almost two weeks for the parts. So we got as far as St. Joeseph before discovering that although the air conditioning was working great we now had no heater. So we made an 1 1/2 hour trip back to the repair shop to see what was wrong. Turns out a little plastic control valve was sticking and needed replacing. However the valve had been obsoleted and the replacement was now $267 along with figuring out the new wiring harness update for it. Decided we would wait a while longer to see if the old valve would quit sticking and headed out for Omaha, Ne. again. This time we got a little north of St. Joseph before a tractor/trailer rig jackknifed right in front of us. Thankfully nobody was hurt, even the driver of the rig was OK, but shaken up. After 10 minutes or so the police showed up and the driver was able to jockey his rig back and forth until he got the trailer out of the ditch. Who knows how far traffic was backed up by then, but it could have been a lot longer if a tow truck had been needed.

Those tires on the trailer look awfully inviting! Maybe shoulda made the guy an offer...
As far as the heater valve goes...I remember when it was just a valve...no electronics needed...As someone said to me today when I was purchasing a new camera and GPS, "We have become slaves to our technology".

Flying to Phoenix tomorrow to attend Vern's memorial on Sunday, then back home Monday afternoon.

Hope you get off to a better start tomorrow.

You're right as usual Bill. I don't mind paying for the addition of GPS to the camera, but I can't see paying an outrageous price for the same basic functions. Anyway maybe it will start working again or I'll have to find one in the junkyard.

That's going to be a fast trip to Phoenix. I thought originally they we're going to have a memorial service for Vern until much later. You guys be safe!
