Being in the Northwest we took our first opportunity to go whalewatching.

Being in the Northwest we took our first opportunity to go whale watching. We decided on tour that left out of Bellingham, Wa instead of the more popular Anacortes. We would leave at 9:30am and return at 4:30pm with a 2 hour stopover on San Juan, Island. A buffet lunch was included in the price of $99 per person. That meant six hours on the water looking for whales. This cruise spots whales 90% of the time so we felt sure we would get to see our first whale today. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and we fell into the minority of cruises that fail to see any whales!! Still it was a perfect day on the water and the buffet lunch was super so we really can't complain. There is always next year!

You have some beautiful pictures.  I  had a similar experience in Alaska.  When the whale was spotted all I could see was people then the splash of it's tail.  That is why I like to take pictures of waterfalls and mountains.

That's funny! Next time I think we'll opt for the small fast boat that just looks for the whales. BTW we will be in Mesa by November 1.
