Leavenworth is a beautiful alpine town in the German tradition. It is situated on the Wenatchee river, one of those gorgeous mountain steams. We stayed in the area for 3 days over Labor Day weekend and were able to see the last performance of the season of 'The Sound of Music' in the outdoor theater. Unfortunately, we weren't  able to take any pictures of the performance, but it was superb! We also spent some time shopping, enjoying the local brew haus offerings, and listening to a little German Um-papa music.
