The Shaffer Trail leads down to the White Rims in the valley below.

The Shaffer Trail leads down to the White Rims in the valley below. You can drive 100 miles once you reach the valley floor. We watched cars on this road come up from the valley floor, it looks hair raising!! So, of course we had to try it ourselves. More photos when we get a better internet connection.

That is pretty weird for sure. We have been there but not done that route. Our friends dick in Carroll have taken the 100 mile drive. I think it was a 1 or 2 day deal. Can you imagine what it was like to actually build that road?

No RV, Susie....it would have not made the turns and probably sunk like a ship! We made it down about half way and turned back up after seeing the upcoming switchback turns...

Turn around? HOW, WHERE?

The switchbacks are so tight that you can turn right around and go back the other way and never know it!
