Visiting Capitol Reef National Park area during the heavy rains that aweek later moved in to the Boulder, Colorado...

Visiting Capitol Reef National Park area during the heavy rains that a week later moved in to the Boulder, Colorado area and did such damage there. Highway 24 through the park was closed and reopened several times while the road was repaired after the rains. The scenic drive through the park was closed the whole time. And of course hiking in the back country was too dangerous because of flash flooding possibilities. Still we got to see the park as beautiful and dangerous in a way that as tourist is rare.

We only got to see a small part of Capitol Reef when we were there. But it looks like it could be a favorite! Thanks for the tour.
