We've spent a few days in Montrose, Colorado visiting the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. This a remarkable deep, narrow canyon carved by the Gunnison River. So deep and narrow, at one point only 40' wide at the river, that sunlight does not easily penetrate the canyon.
